After a fur-heavy load
Let the drum dry enough that loose hair is easier to pick up, then wipe visible strands from the drum and door gasket with a damp microfiber cloth. Front-loading machines can collect debris around gasket folds.
Check the manufacturer’s filter instructions
Some washers have accessible pump or debris filters; others require service access. Never open a filter or panel without following the appliance manual.
Run only manufacturer-approved cleaning cycles
If your washer has a tub-clean cycle, follow its instructions. Do not improvise chemical combinations.
