How to Remove Pet Hair From a Comforter

Do as much dry removal as practical first

Comforters have a large surface area and can overwhelm a washer with loose fur. A vacuum upholstery attachment or fabric-safe brush can remove much of the easy hair before laundering.

Make sure the washer is large enough

Bulky bedding must move freely. If your comforter barely fits dry, a larger-capacity machine or professional laundromat may be more appropriate.

Respect fill and temperature instructions

Down, synthetic fill and weighted bedding have different requirements. Always defer to the manufacturer label.
