Static is only part of the problem

Pet hair can stick because of both electrostatic attraction and physical entanglement in fabric. Reducing static may help loose strands release, but it will not pull deeply trapped fur out of fleece.

Start with fabric care

Use the washing and drying conditions recommended on the label. Excessive overdrying can increase static on some fabrics, while some technical fabrics should avoid certain softeners.

Mechanical removal still matters

For visibly coated clothing, a brush or lint roller is often more direct than changing the wash chemistry.
